If you want the convenience of renewing your vehicle registration online, but you don’t have an Alberta.ca account to use the government eServices website, then Express Renewal is for you!
Express Renewal is a one-time vehicle registration renewal option that is offered by some Alberta registries. You can find a link to start your Express Renewal on your registry’s own website, or you can click the “Renew Online Now” link in the Renewal Reminder email or text you receive every year, or after you access your Renewal Reminder account at reminders.e-registry.ca.
What Express Renewal can do for you
It’s easy! In just a few clicks you can renew the registration for your vehicle.
It’s convenient! You can renew your registration from anywhere, and your renewal is processed by your registry of choice. Your registration certificate can be picked up at your convenience, or mailed to you (if your registry offers a mail-out option).
You don’t have to make a long-term commitment! You don’t have to create and maintain an account to access the service, and because it’s a one-time renewal, you are free to renew your registration any way you like next time.
What Express Renewal can’t do
Your Express Renewal can renew your registration for just one year, and your registration certificate is available to you as a paper copy only (not a digital download).
To renew your registration for a two-year period, you will need to renew in person at any Alberta registry agent.
