Life gets busy, and sometimes it’s nice to have some help. The Renewal Reminder Service can help make your life a little easier, by reminding you when important registry renewal dates are coming up.

What the Renewal Reminder Service can do for you
The Renewal Reminder Service helps by providing annual reminders about when it’s time to renew:
- your vehicle registration
- your driver’s license
- your corporate annual return
You control your account, and your reminders are sent from the registry office of your choice. Some registries can even offer you a link to renew your vehicle registration online right away, either on the Government of Alberta’s eServices website (See also: How online renewals on the eServices site work) or on the registry’s own website as an Express Renewal (See also: How does an Express Renewal Work?).
Your reminders come to you two times per year, and you can choose to receive email reminders, texts, or both!
What the Renewal Reminder Service can’t do
The Renewal Reminder Service is meant to be a memory aid, not a fail-safe. Ultimately, the responsibility to remember to renew your vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses and corporate annual returns lies with you.
Your Renewal Reminder Account is created and maintained by you, so it is important to make sure that your information is correct and up-to-date. The Renewal Reminder Service does not know when you have already renewed your registration for the year, or changed your address, or dissolved your company.
For the most part, reminders are just that: a note to remind you. You are responsible for renewing your vehicle registrations online or in person, and renewing your corporate annual return and driver’s license/ID card in person at a registry office.
