The Alberta Government has created a website that offers a variety of personal registry services online: eservices.alberta.ca. This site works with the Government’s Alberta.ca account—the same account that you use to access your Alberta Health records and test results online.
The online registry services provided by eServices, in conjunction with Alberta registry agents, can be a convenient alternative for clients who don’t want to or can’t visit a registry in person. And it offers eco-friendly, paperless registry products, provided instantly to your account at the time of purchase. Read on to learn more about these services.

Who runs the site, and who can use it?
The eServices site is administered by the Government of Alberta. It’s linked with the Alberta.ca account—you need to have an Alberta.ca account in order to order most of the registry products on the site. Alberta is unique in that registry services are privatized here. Registry agents and the Provincial Government work together to provide services for Albertans. When you use the eServices site to order a product or service, you will be required to select a registry agent of choice. That registry can be your point of contact, to answer questions and help you interpret the registry products you receive from eServices.
In order to access the eServices site, you will need to have an active, verified Alberta.ca account. Signing up is a free, two-step process, and you need to make sure your account is verified every year. The registry products you order through eServices are available as digital downloads on your Alberta.ca account.

What renewing your vehicle registration on the eServices website can do for you
There are a lot of advantages to using eServices to order personal registration services and documents:
There’s no waiting in line! Once you complete your order on the website, your digital registration product is immediately available on your Alberta.ca account. You can renew your vehicle registration from the comfort of your own home.
It’s eco friendly! The documents you can order on the eServices site are provided to you as digital files that you can download. You can print them on regular paper if you have a printer, or go totally paper-free and keep the download on your smartphone.
It’s economical! Your digital registry product is available on your account for one year from the date of your purchase. That means if you lose your vehicle registration certificate, you can print another one, from home, for free, and skip the $28 fee to order a duplicate document.
It’s accessible! You can order your registry products and services from anywhere in the world. Vacationing in Florida and need to renew your vehicle registration? No problem!
What eServices renewals can’t do
Ordering registry products and services on the eServices site may not be for everyone.
You won’t receive your pink registration certificate in the mail. Because all the products offered on the eServices site are provided as digital downloads, nothing is sent by mail. You won’t receive a registration certificate on the official pink paper in addition to your digital download. If you print your registration certificate at home, it will be your official registration (it just won’t be pink).
If you’ve moved out of Alberta, you won’t be able to use the site. You must have an active and verified Alberta.ca account to access registry products on the eServices site, so if you’ve moved away, this is not an option for you anymore.
You can only renew your vehicle for one year at a time. The site is only set up to allow one year’s renewal at a time. You can renew multiple times to extend your registration expiry date beyond one year, but you will not get a discount of the service fees like you would if you renewed in person at a registry agent.
There are no refunds. Your registration certificate will instantly arrive in your Alberta.ca account. The Alberta Government can’t cancel or take back these digital files, so they cannot provide a refund. Part of the online ordering process includes a check box to confirm that refunds cannot be provided.
